Pre anesthetic requirements PDF Print E-mail
Before an anesthetic procedure all pets must have no food after midnight, but are allowed access to water until they come in.  We must have examined all patients within the past 12 months previous to any anesthetic procedure.

We require negative heartworm tests on all dogs within the past 12 months. Bloodwork is required on all animals < 7 years within the past 12 months and animals > 7 years within the past 6 months.  Fluids are recommended for all anesthetic patients, but required for patients > 7 years old.  Again at our hospital anesthesia is tailored to your pet’s individual needs depending on age, bloodwork, and heart status.  All patients under anesthesia are monitored either by the doctor or a veterinary technician and/or anesthetic monitors.
